Not specific keys, but zones. I think this is what Aaron meant by key windows. For each layer in each preset you have a low point, a high point, a low fade range, and a high fade range. If the fade range is 000, the layer you are editing will sound within the lo to high range. Hence, it is a switch rather than a cross fade. You can do this with key (note number), velocity, and real-time controllers. RELATED EXCERPT FROM SIMLUATED DRUM MAPS POST: Layers may be (1) switched or (2) cross-faded across the keyboard map, across the velocity map, and across real-time controller maps. RELATED EXCERPT FROM BTS [BEATS] DISCUSSION: L1 may be a SFX (Special Effects) ROM Instrument assigned to the keyboard range C-2 through A#0, L2 may be a KIT (drum kit)ROM Instrument assigned to the keyboard range B0 through B3, L3 may be a BAS (Bass) ROM Instrument assigned to the keyboard range C4 through B5, and L4 may be a STR (string) ROM Instrument assigned to the keyboard range C6 through G8.
