Re: Mickey Needs a Sampler CHEAP!!!

2004-05-01 by keiodi

To me there are three basic types of samplers phrase, loop and
keyboard. phrase plays a single sound when triggered. loop plays a
loop over and over. (adjusted to the BPM that you want) and keyboard
which takes the sample and adjusts it across a keyboard so that the
pitch changes with the keys.

Ableton Live it best for the first two and while it could probablly
be set up to do the third it would tak some work.

I use it to play sounds that don't come out of my drum machines,
synths, or other sound making devices. it might be something that
I've made myself or gotten off a sample CD (tho I don't use too many
of them)

I have Ableton Synched to My XL-7 (it is the master for my whole
rig) Then I either trigger loops or one shots via my keyboard
(computer keyboard tho you could do it with a controller keyboard) I
want an eveloution UC-33 to controll it.
