yes - I am using EX with the 1820m, and it is fantastic.

I am running it on an Athlon 1.6 ghz machine with 512 MB RAM - getting
130 voices and smooth operation. I should boost the RAM, and perhaps
the processor too. I've been using it everyday for about a month, no
problems and the functionality is a breeze. 

Plus...the AD/DA converters are Seriously Great and in my opinion on
the level of the best stuff out there.
