thought some folks here might like this. the infamous treasure-trove of 
information, experience, and vicious flames, the Rec Pit, has been retired and 
a new collection of BBS's has sprung up to take its place. now called the 
MARSH, it's populated by serious and successful professionals, as well as 
aspiring wanna-be hacks like myself. the general URL is: http://

but specifically for us XX-7 tweak heads, i highly recommend the Keyboards 
BBS. scroll down the list and you'll find it.

it's moderated by very cool and knowledgable dudes/dudettes, and the topics 
should be of interest to anyone who regularly haunts these pages. the people 
you encounter at MARSH have been doing MIDI since it was invented - and 
some of them have been programming since a "patch" was actually a patch. 
there's a lot to learn.

and newbies can take heart - the nasty and highly personal flaming of the Rec  
Pit seems to have been tamed. for now...
