I sold the Regelwerk a while ago, so I probably didn't explain how it works properly. Basically, if the Regelwerk is set up to mirror the controllers on the xx-7, and the xx-7 is set up to send any controller movements to one of its outputs (which is connected to the in of the Regelwerk), then any movement of the controllers on the XX-7 will be tracked by ther respective faders on the Regelwerk. If you then move the faders on the Regelwerk, then you can either have it add to the value received from the xx-7, or have it so that it won't send out any controller changes until you move the fader to the point where it matches the value sent by the xx-7. There are other modes as well but I can't remeber them off th top of my head. HOWEVER, if you change the 'multi' on the Regelwerk then all tracked parameters will be forgotten. As you guys have pointed out, changing presets on the xx-7 will also cause the Regelwerk to become out of sync with the controller values on the xx-7, until of course you move the knobs on the xx-7 and they get sent to the Regelwerk again... I think it's designed to be used with sequencer apps to control the mix. LEDs above and below each of the faders tell you whether the received value is above or below the current fader position. If you want to tweak the mix then you can do so without fear of sudden jumps in volume etc. It basically mimics an SSL desk without the expense of motorised faders. Sorry for any confusion!! When you switch presets, the initial controller values get loaded but *do not get sent externally*. If you had a box that could query the XL-7 via custom sysex, you might be able to do it, but other than that, no dice. -Aaron PS. I just read your post quoted here and you're exactly right. =) --- mike <curiousproductions@...> wrote: > WOW! > > Ok so it will not make changes till it meets the "actual" value of > the controller.
