I would recommend an M-Audio Uno, it's a single midi port that runs about 
$30.  Alternately, if your PC has a game controller port, you can buy a 
game controller to USB adaptor too.  Would run you about the same price 
though, so my vote would be to just the USB Uno.  If you bought this at a 
music store, I would recommend calling them and seeing if you can use on 
of their store PC's for this too, most stores will be happy to help a 
customer.  Just copy the new OS to a CD and bring it with you.

Hi Im new to group and just purchased an XL7.
Can anyone advise what connection is required to enable OS load from 
PC to XL7.I know it needs MIDI in/out but my PC running Windows XP 
has no Midi connection.Do I meed an interface and if so any 
recommendations-I only want to download OS as all my work is done on 
hardware not computer.
