First Crunch.. trying to adjust note lenght in grid edit mode

2004-07-24 by gonzinigonz

Hi
just had my first lock up of the XL-7. This the first time ive tryed
to edit a pattern while in "Grid mode" with "Edit Pattern" set on
the "NOTE" screen. (only had the unit for a week..)

I programmed a note at the start of the bar using the Grid edit in
real time.(pattern is 1 bar long)
The preset sound was an arp (edited..), so i wanted to set the
duration of the programmed note to a bar ie dur:04.000. All good that
worked.
Then i wanted to place another note using the grid edit mode on the
9th step, so to re-trigger the arp twice in the bar.
I reduced the note length in the edit pattern screen to dur:02.000,
placed a note on step 9 (using the grid edit) and set the duration to
dur:02.000
That worked.
Then i deleted the 2nd note on the 9th step (using grid edit), set
the cursor under
"<->" to scroll back to the first event. Thats where the problem
happened.
All the front panel locked up, it was still playing. If i pressed the
edit preset button it would just play the track id been editing
(after a delay). If i pressed it again all the drum tracks would come
back.
Ive just done this again and the same problem has occured again..
Is this a bug, or am i not supposed to edit note duration in grid
edit mode using this screen?
How are you supposed to edit the duration of a note in grid edit mode
if this is the case?
Only by hard switching off and back on again can the problem be
corrected. I had no errors flash up on the LCD on restarting.
Do you feel i should reset the unit if this isint a known bug?
Im on V2.0 O/S
Any help appreiated.
Regards
Gonz
