What I am looking to accomplish is put together a complex drum progression that I can write a song around.Meaning; intro, verse-chorus,fills and possible breakdowns with certain drums or percussion dropping in or out. With my dr-3 this is fairly easy to program or do in realtime but with the px-7 it seems to me that most of this will have to be programmed individually then assembled into a song. >>>Well, if you're just fleshing out the ideas for a song, you don't need to assemble them in Song Mode right away. I would dedicate a Pattern to each section (verse, chorus, etc) and then just switch them in real time. Once you get each part the way you want it, then you can assemble it in Song Mode. <<< Also I am a guitar player so tapping it in in realtime is tough for me and I've found that step recording does'nt sound very realistic. Please help! >>>Honestly man, that's just all down to practice! You don't have to be able to tap in things in real time for realistic feel, but then you are going to have to learn some midi tricks to get a more realistic feel. Do a search in this forum on "Drum Programming" as I've posted a lot of XX-7 specific tips in the past on this topic. <<< I love the sounds of my px-7(way better than boss) but the time factor sucks the creativity right out of me. >>>The more you use it, the faster you'll get! :) Kinda like guitar in that respect. <<< rEalm The information transmitted is intended only for the person(s)or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or legally privileged material.
