RE: [xl7] How to edit individual note lengths; How to set up note lengths in step mode

2004-09-02 by erik_magrini@Baxter.com

Oh gotcha, no way to really do that directly. However, a possible
workaround (depending on your needs) would be to first use the Scale/Shift
Duration function to scale all notes to a 0% duration, and then do it
again using the Shift setting for actual note lengths you want. This way,
all notes will end up the exact same length.

Otherwise, might just be easier to chuck the pattern into Cubase and do it
there!

what i ment is a function like cubases quantize duracion [individual
length
with a certain grid]
is there any way to do that with the XX7?

Note with quantizing, with the Pattern Edit command "Scale/Shift Note
Durations". This will change all note durations on the selected tracks,
either by a fixed value (ie, you add 7 to all note values) or by a
percentage (ie, all notes are made 7% longer).

(6) Place the cursor under the dash in the <-> field
(7) Find the note [or event] you want to change
(8) Scoll to the dur [duration] value and change it.

i get this far, but after changing the length value and then scrolling
back,
the value hasnt changed, do i have to insert some enter?

You could also change notes en masse with quantize.

With the comon quantizing? it quantizes note lengths too???????

[Thank god for the XX7 group!]
