Re: Proteum Editor?

2005-02-15 by steve_the_composer

I can't help with the proteum, since I have not used it. Perhaps
others can.

As for being fully functional, PatchPro 1.0 uses sliders for the
envelops; it does not have a click-and-drag graphic interface.
Also, it does not have arps. However, a week or so ago I heard from
the author. He is working on several improvements--including arps
support. The beta version he sent has an arps window for selecting
mode, pattern, and the various arp settings. So far, it does not
have a window to select from arp patterns by name--just by number.
Also, it does not yet have an arp pattern editor.

As for sound design--editing, layers, controllers, patchcord,
effects, and links--it works for me (WinXP, P2500--OS2.0, XL-1--
OS2.26 via an old parallel-port MOTU midi interface).
