Well, unfortunately, I've determined that's it's the left and right audio outs on the XL-7, not the cables I'm using. I've tried recording by connecting the headphone jack of the XL-7 to the AW16G audio in using a 1/4" cable, and the sound is perfect. There is no change in the sound whatsoever. Also, the overall sound is slightly clearer. Oh well - time to re-record all of my patterns. Bah humbug....
