(1) Take a look at the diagrams in the manual: (a) Output --> Tip-Ring- Sleeve [TRS] Return/Send sub outs, and (b) Output/Effects Send Routing. (2) Notice on (b) the diagram shows two comingled send systems--output and effects. Think of them as separate systems first before trying to figure out how the comingled system functions. (3) You have in effect 4 send busses. These are a function of synth settings (global and preset), NOT a function of the sequencer. (Also remember: channels [midi/synth functionality] are NOT tracks [sequencer functionality]. OUTPUT SENDS FUNCTIONALITY: (1) Notice the Jack Detect switches. If there are no plugs in the sub outs, the output sends are routed to the main outs. (2) The sub outs do not go through the effects processor. They are dry signals. EFFECTS SENDS FUNCTIONALITY: (1) With the synth part of your e-mu [global and preset settings], you can route audio signal to FXA and FXB via 4 sends. (2) With each of the FX modules [A and B] you can set the % levels of each send. Hope this helps. --Steve --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "Matt Picone" <matman@m...> wrote: > I need a primer on effects in general in the command station. > > Why isn't it just as easy as having an effect A and effect B send knob per > Track, which scales the values set up in the patch? > > Can someone help me get my head around this? > > -m@
