Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Hi everybody, I am impressed by being welcomed with default bunch of 
files, FAQ etc,etc. Looks like the best group I ever joined. Thanks!
I just got MP7, probably Xl would be better but I can probably get 
the expansion.
My problem is that i only worked with Yamaha sequencers all QYs, 
Rm1x, RS7000. Emu is completley different concept, architecture. I 
spent few hours with the manual and still am not able to get the 
whole differnt concept. Since I am pro musician I am always working 
on something, mostly behind, deadlines etc so I can`t spend a week or 
more just to understand Emu well.
I would appreciate when someone, familiar with Yamahas could point 
the main differences so I could get going.
mainly I looked for additional "noise maker", standby in case of 
computer problems on stage. This Emu beats Yamaha all the way, the 
design, compact size, great trigger pads, SOUNDS !( I could hardly 
ever find usable sounds on Yamahas, actually believe there is no 
single decent voice for solo).
I would use MP mainly for drum beats, having some pads, fx ( didnt 
plan that but its sounds are asking to be used)
I work with notebook setup : Ableton+ Reason+ legacy and various 
hardware controlling that.
I was already thinking of trading it for whatever Yamaha but this 
Yahoo group gives me hope it is worth trying some more.
Any help would be appreciated ( perhaps links to some tutorials, are 
there any books out there ?)
