Re: [xl7] Help With MIDI - PX-7 (im sure the xl7 is the same)

2006-02-08 by michael woods

Aziam,
If you use EMU's e-loader program, you can just upload the files from the PX7 into your computer instead of trying to record them. It transfers SYSEX information and everything. Once you get the file in your computer, open the file in Sonar, and then select the PX7 as the output on each individual midi track. When you select the PX7 as the output, it will automatically select the correct patches. Save the file as a Cakewalk file and not as a regular midi file and you should be good to go.

I am not very good at explaining things so I apologize, but I actually use Sonar and I do what you are trying to do all the time.

  Mike

  Hello all

I'm having trouble hooking up my PX-7 via MIDI to Sonar on my PC. I
have a beat created on the PX-7 and when I record using MIDI into
Sonar it shows MIDI data correctly, but when I play back from sonar
into the PX-7 nothing plays and the red MIDI input light doesn't even
light up on the PX-7. Does anyone record their tracks from PX-7 via
MIDI to a PC? I've tried every configuration and option I can think
of. This is frustrating me. Thanks
