For anyone interested in using system exclusive commands, you may want 
to check out a new demo I just created. (Go to Files > Embedded Sysex 
Demos > Filter Type.) There you will find the file filter-syx0.mid as 
well as some instructions and an explanation of what the file does.

In a nutshell, the demo changes the filter type of layer 1 of the 
current preset in the edit buffer. It is meremly one example of how 
you can embed sysex commands into a pattern to change parameter data.
