Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

if you press the button that toggles between quick edit program volume 
and pan while in grid record mode you can toggle between velocity. vel 
and gate gat. 

the gate is supposed to do it although its never worked for me... iv'e 
started a big fuss on this forum about it trying to get people to 
believe me... maybe it's my mp-7 rom....
