Re: Grid Recording and Note Ties

2006-04-25 by mike_melon

Here's something else to try

-get a patch and set it for monophonic play as described in previous
mail (or turn down your amp!)

-set up the following patch cords:

 cord #3
 key+- ---> keysust + 100

 cord #4
 DC ---> keysust +018

go into grid edit and start programming. you'll notice every note is
tied

-transpose down to C1 (light middle lamp on left and press bottom C)

-you can know place some note offs/breaks. press a position to
insert a note off and use the data wheel to set the velocity to 1.

experiment adding more note offs or transpose back into the playable
range and change the pitch programming.

-anywhere you place a near silent c1 will break the tied note

Note:
stopping the sequencer will cause a hung note so press C1 or
home/enter+midi to silence.

I find this really interesting. If you ensure note on and offs don't
occupy the same steps it is like proper step sequencing, inversely?!
