Easier would be to make a preset that does this. Each preset has 4 layers and can link to 2 other presets for a total of 12 layers. Then, you could set up patchcords to control each layer's volume with the MIDI A-N knobs. This way, you could continue to use the rest of the box's features (like the sequencer). Actually, now that I think of it, the preset approach is really the only way to do it. I don't think you could have the channels respond to other channels than what they are. You could sequence the notes, then copy them to multiple tracks, not not live.
