Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

Hey everyone...
   
  My question is this.. I have Sonar 6, and when I load a standard preset song form XL-7 rom bank into sonar it breaks it all up into seperate tracks.. But when I create my own song from my own patterns an load it into sonar my song doesn't even appear.. Why is that?
   
  Can I choose Midi type 1 or 0 as to how I save my song? If so How?
