Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

as far as i can tell, my XL7 was probably from the first production batch. 
it's running v2.00 and everything is working well, except the buttons and 
data wheel.

is there anything i should know before i take it apart and spray some 
contact cleaner into the buttons and data wheel?

is it possible/feasible/desirable to upgrade the data wheel encoder to the 
type used on later units?
