Re: Why do the channel presets stay the same when I change patterns?

2008-06-17 by steve_the_composer

Some diagnostic Qs to try to help you figure this out:
(1) Are you stopping the sequencer after playing each pattern then
switching the pattern and restarting the sequencer?
(2) If so, do the presets change?
(2) Are you switching the patterns on the fly?
(3) If you are switching patterns on the fly, are you pressing
home/enter after you dial up the next pattern?

To replicate your results, here's what I did:
(1) I created a 1 measure loop using one kit. I saved it.
(2) I switched to a different kit and saved that to the next pattern.
(3) I switched to a third kit and saved that to the third
consecutive pattern.
(4) I switched to a fourth kit and saved that to the next pattern.

To test it I did the following:
(1) I dialed up pattern 1a [in my case 100^7] and pressed play.
(2) With the cursor in the NextPat field, I dialed 101^7.
(3) I then pressed Home/Enter. At the end of the measure, pattern 1b
played.
(4)I then repeated steps 2 and 3. Each time the pattern with the
different preset played.

For me learning new gear can be challenging and sometimes
frustrating. ("It should be so simple to do this." "Why doesn't it
work like expect it to?" etc.)

I am not sure the diagnostic Qs and the steps I listed will help
immediately, but don't give up. Hopefully you wil come to appreciate
your E-Mu.
