Re: Loading SMF (*.mid) songs into Command Station

2012-05-31 by steve_the_composer

Have you tried song mode?

Personally, I don't use song mode, but it might be the solution you are looking for.

Out of curiosity, how long are "normal" SMFs?

Also, if you have a lot of CC and sysex data in the files, you might want to thin that out.

Hope this helps.

Steve

The memory limit on song slots or the buffer must be very small because 80% of my SMF files will not load into the Command Stations via eLoader. The only files that will load are real small ones with just a few tracks and very few notes/midi events. I could break the files up into 32 measure patterns and then re-assemble in song mode, but that would not be much fun. Any tips/techniques for getting larger (I would say normal size) SMF files into the Command Station as songs?

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
