really a Beat Generating Monster.

I am the very proud owner of both an XL7 and MP7. They are great for
Breakbeat. The Ultimate.

I always keep up with www.breaksworld.com and the current reviews.
I'll hear a phatt break I like and then try to out-sick it with my
stuff. Not hard at all. You can make layered beatz on either machine
and screw with quantizing and other recording modes to humanize the
groove, but I don't really find much quantizing necessary. These
machines have a natural loose kind of feel and so it just seems to
happen on its own. I find by careful mixing of layers that You can
build tension and feeling incredibly. That's what makes a Break beat
magickal, is the use of space and tension. That's why a break is
erotic sounding when it's cool.

These machines could really re-write techno in lots of ways. My next
goal is getting some expansions to load up further on available
insanity. Great job, E-MU. These are two of the best investments I
made this year. The factory presets are OK but I really think a lot
can be done from scratch with what is available. That's the
challenge. I can get lost in these machines up to 16 hours in a day
without stopping. Incredible. The polyphony can create textures so
thick that it almost unbearable.
