Hehe, I thought about that too, but it's still good for me to have the letters on for those ummm...drunk and dark club nights :) While the letters aren't neccesary, it's nice to make it look professional still, and not like a hack paint job. Or you could use blacklight sensitive paint that only light up under a black light, and swap out the bulb in the 12v light with one of those!

I don't know why you seasoned XL/MP hackers need the lettering at all. How long would it take to memorize the control functions on the front panel? Once that's done, you could have a unit that's just ... black.
