Re: [xl7] Preset warnings and saving

2002-06-19 by David Jones

Yes. However the old way was even worse (orbit V2). If you saved to a new location it wouldn't take you to that new location... it would save it to that location and keep you on the current preset... thanks Emu

The problem that I have, is that the Preset saev always defaults to the last saved location, even if you aren't editing a Preset on that track anymore. Interesting idea with the "<<<" though, I'll try that tonight!

What I have been doing as a "workaround" is changing the NAME of all of my presets. So instead of "PRC: Kicks" , I change it to "<<<: kicks"

that way they aren't even useable in the list. But before I devised this method, I was overwriting stuff like crazy!

Yep, good one! Or if it had a special 'symbol' next to it to indicate the same thing. I know I'd give up a letter space for that....

OR - it would be nice that if a preset were already used in a pattern, and you try to save over it it would warn you. just a thought
