There's no external inputs per se, but Sub outs 1 and 2 can function as send/returns for using an external effects processor (thereby bypassing the internal efx). You can't run anything through the Emu's filters or modulations sources if that's what you're thinking. Page 18 of the manual.

Hi there!
The datasheet describing XL-7 available at emu.com says:
"Audio Inputs: Effects Returs 1 In (Stereo), Effects Returs 2 In (Stereo)"
I cant find any info about this, nor see them on any pictures of the box.
Are there any fysical inputs or not? Guess not... :)
