In fact the MPC4000 doesn't offer any built in
sounds really, it does however come with a 20/40 gig harddrive packed with
samples to start you off.

It's the MPC4000 actually, and they're going for closer to $3000 (or was it $3200?) in the stores. I think it's a very cool box, but just too expensive in light of todays software sequencing environment. For that much money you could get a bad ass PC (or laptop) with an RME card, and Cubase SX, and probably still have cash left over. For those people who don't want to go the PC route, it doesn't really offer more than say MPC2000XL combined with a good sound module or external sampler. Just my $.02

is it just me or is the mpc3000 a bit too pricey? I suppose 24bit 96k is cool. But 4500$ cool? Now i'm back to wanting the Hartmann Neuron!!!
