Emu XL-7 & MP-7 User's Group

I've been using my mp7 for some time now, and i've run into few major
problems.  Right now I have a big one.  On channel 2 i recorded some
hihats...  I saved my pattern, played one of my songs i wrote earlier
(completely different from this) and came back to the pattern and it was
suddenly PhatSnares that was playing (with the hi hat rhythm i recorded) on
track two.  Well I went to check pattern assign and it was on multiA - I
switched it to two.  Then I changed the PRESET to PRC: Hihat2 (like it was
before)  Play, sounds fine.  Save...   Stop 3 times (reload) - it goes back
to PHAT SNARES!!! WHAT THE ...   No matter what I do (erase the track,
whatever) it always goes back.  Incidently, Phatsnares is also the preset on
track 1... this is ok.  Any ideas?
