Friends - for the record (at least from my experience) the jumpy numbers thing is the wheel/encoder, not the OS. I had those replaced on my P2k and E4 - however - that was only after several years of heavy use. Not so bad really. Mechanical stuff wears out. Get it replaced and you should have no problems for a long time. However - this is the reason that I harp on the playpads-as-numeric- keypad OS option = an alternative way of entering values if the wheel goes down. peace and goodwill gv --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "David DeciBel" <spec@s...> wrote: > I have the fortunate convenience of having a good friend that happens to be > one of the best techs in the midwest. he looked at the encoder and jiggled > it and said "looks like a piece of crap encoder..." - he said that basically > it's cheaply made and so on.
