Re: [xl7] Beat matching

2003-01-13 by Gary Saville

Most BPM counters don't work very well, especially if you are playing breaks
or jungle.. then they are totaly useless. What I find works ok when I'm
jamming in my studio, is to start the mp-7 as close as I can to the record
tempo in my headphones, then slowly adjust the tempo on the 12'z. once there
matched, you can bring in the MP-7, and make the fine adjustments on the
decks... So basicly, use the tap bpm to get a close the two tempo's close,
and then do the rest with the 12'z platter mixing in both directions..

sold my 1200s in order to pay for the xl-7 (I know, how could I? They were
old but mint and I got top dollar on eBay). Don't worry I didn't sell the
vinyl.

Microsync device you mentioned with your xx-7? I found that a Numark
beatkeeper, which rounds to the nearest whole beat per minute, is virtually
useless for beatmatching two records. How does the xx-7 manage the sync if
the Red Sound carries a decimal point? Thanks a bunch for your thoughts on
this!!!!
