Yes, but how are you assigning each pad a seperate midi channel? Are you
just specifying that the preset for each channel has only a one note key
range? Regardless of how you're doing it (though I'd personally still
like to know) I think this happens because you can only record onto a
single TRACK at once, though that track can be set to Multi and therefore
record on more than one CHANNEL at once. Record something like you're
describing, and then go into List Edit mode for that track and see if all
the data is on the same channel or not....

Well the each of the pads can be assigned to a midi channel. Say, on
pad 1 I have a kick drum assigned to channel 1 (using the
corresponding MP-7 preset) and on pad 2 I have the snare assigned to
channel 2 (using another preset) etc. I can even edit each preset
independently. The problem starts when I record. All the data (from
two different channels) is saved in a single track.
Is it clear?
