Well I kinda have been using whatever is on 16B as a control preset, keeping generic sequences in them and using them to help with pattern changes and FX. The preset is composed of 4 layers of generic drum and bass instruments that I can use in transition sequences. I also route FX sends to the QuickEdit knobs so I can change FX levels realtime and have their values stored in presets. Then I'll choose what FX I want and save that stuff with the preset. That way when I go to 16B when playing live I can change the preset and shuffle around what FX are loaded. Also I try to keep an arsenal of generic transition sequences in the preset. What I do is setup a preset knob to control a realtime crossfade (RTXfade) to switch the active layer in the channel. Then I'll sequence data to each layer individually with a drum roll, or some sort of break or something cool for a pattern switch. That way I can "dial in" what break I wanna use and transistion to the next pattern. It works okay. I just make sure that track 16 (what i have for MultiB) is turned on in all my patterns that I wanna use. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. I signed up for IBGEEK. There's some good archived info there.
