this track is my life project. . . I meditated at the top of the siberian mountians for 3 years creating it. . . For real, this was a last minute release and is still FAR from finished. When I first built the patterns for this track I was actually quite a bit more trancy. I used a lot more synths and didn't include any of the key melodies... It also featured quite a few arps that made the track sound "trancy" - I really didn't feel it was my style and wasn't inovative enough - I also have a tendancy to use a lot of variation in my tracks, which Isn't a good thing to me... I like to be consistant, but dynamic. So I decided to go along with a primary bass line.... I mixed it up a little bit, and added some syncopation. Actually Realm gave me a couple of ideas on how to improve it... The whole track was produced with a vocal in mind... so it is kind of bare... The drums are definatly unique. They were the first thing I programmed when I got the XL rom... at the end I kind of take a turn. This is actually me hurrying up to find an ending. My intro was so long that I didn't get to emphasize my main chorus, and it ends up quite short. But the breakdown would make a nice .. . err. breakdown. The final mix is already in progress. I have added a vocal line, mixed up the drums a little bit, and added some needed compression. The sounds are a little different, giving it a smidgin more variation in the synths... definatly needed some eq as it was mixed on headphones... hehe - sorry about breaking your expensive champaign glasses ... the check is in the mail... I ended up actually spinning this version at a party (using Staton's Final Scratch) and it got everyone going. I was kind of suprised because it has such a mellow aspect. It's very difficult to know how "good" a track is without direct feedback. . . err. I'd continue, but it's not like I really remember what happened at the top of that mountain.... take it ez .dB [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
