By the way, the sub I built is strictly for the home theater setup. For tracking/mixing purposes, I have a pair of NHT Pro A-20's. They are pretty amazing. I managed to get a great deal on them after one of E-mu's trade shows. NHT gave us a sweet option to buy them instead of returning them (they were lent to us), so I picked up a pair. I think they're 250W RMS (400w peak) into each speaker, with a sealed enclosure, and a specially designed crossover built into the amp/control module. They've designed it with enough power and custom filtering to achieve room shaking, yet EXTREMELY tight bass from a small sealed monitor. I think they're something like 43Hz-20kHz +/- 1dB if I remember correctly.
