Re: what chords?

Here I thought you guys were pulling our legs with the patchcord thing. I too thought that
the XX-7 as all other Proteus engines had a digital patchbay. Imagine my surprise when I bought a
brand new Vintage Keys module yesterday (you know, the one with the "retro" knobs, brushed
aluminum on plastic). I took it out of the box and the first thing that hit me was a strong smell
of stale tobacco. Okay I said to myself, I guess that's a nice touch... then I found at the
bottom of the box... you guessed it, 24 real patchcords. The back panel had (in addition to the 6
output jacks) 24 extra 1/4" phone jacks! I was amazed how they got them all to fit in that space.
Aaron and friends must have spent the last several months pulling all-nighters to get these
things together. So the real kicker is when I start plugging some of these patchcords in...
almost all of them had significant crackle in the lines. I had to fiddle with each one for a
while before the crackling would go away. Wow, I mean that's *really* attention to detail! How
these guys pulled that one off is sure to go down in the anals of sonic history!!!

             Stephen
