Re: [xl7] Help!

2003-05-21 by erik_magrini@Baxter.com

Both are the same price so now my last decision before I finally get
one is keyboard or command station. Are the sounds and specs the same
for both?

>>>No, the XL-7 has 128 voice polyphony, the XK-7 has 64 voices. I would
definitely recommend going wtih 128 voices, unless you really need the
keys of the XK-7. For what it's worth though, I did think the keyboard
action on the XK-7 was very good for a lower pricesd keyboard. Other than
the polyphony, I believe they are the same. Not to sure how simlar the
OS's are though, so you might not get the new features like X-MIX etc.
Anyone else (Sean, Aaron?) know more on this one? <<

Does the keyboard have a sequencer?

>>>Yes. <<<

And on on the command station can you turn off the touch velocity on the
pads?

>>>Why would you want to? You can change the velocity curves, so that's
close. <<<

Im looking at the add and wondering how would I record chords and melodys
with this? Would I need a midi keyboard with me all the time?

>>>While you are limited to the number of keys you can play at once with
the Command Stations, the feel fo teh rubber pads once they get broken
more than makes up for it IMO. You can also transpose the keypads too,
if that helps. If you're a regular keyboard player, then you might want
to get a smaller portable keyboard to use if you're more comfortable with
that. <<<
