i will make a drum kit, and set up my pads so i have all the sounds where i 
want them.  i will just play bd, and snares live, but keep the same high hat 
that was playing over my 4/4.  i will also do bongo hits on the spot too.  i 
usualy do this about 8-16 measures before a breakdown...adds a little drama. i 
do also use pads to trigger loops.  but i am all about the IMPROV.   

if i ever play in chicago, i will keep in my mind whats hot there...another 
great reason for RPS, and storing extra patterns...you never know what the 
crowd will be like, especially in other cities.
