It shur is! i am totaly impressed with the levle of contact that i
currently have with the E-MU people on this product i kinda can't
belive it. It is a techies dream come true.

studio, that I can take out to clubs."

Well the only way i can put it is like this, i have had BAD luck with
the PC and no better luck with MAC and the lack of dependability that
i have encountered with them. It is just tooooooo much stress when i
am coming close to a deadline, i have lost many months over the years
due to HD falure and crashing OS's and dont want to deal with it any
more. I am going to move my recording platform to sompthing other
than the puter, I have been thinking about going to a darwin for
this, i have only heard good things about them. But I have to wonder
if i can still get the jazz drives disk's that i would need.

well together. Pretty much drum and bass in a box. You could keep a
crowd entertained with nothing more.

it does the trick, provided you know what you want to do before you
start. I kept reaching for an 'undo' button, since not everything I
play is worthy of being recorded, but couldn't find one. "

the best way i know it to use the erase button wile in record mode
just press it and hold down the note/notes that you want to erase and
as the loop cycles the unwanted notes are erased.

"> I also noticed something else - when two channels are pointed to
the same drum kit, they are both affected by controller changes. Why
is that? I had the "hybrid" kit on channels 2 and 5, and regardless
of which of the two tracks was 'active,' twisting the quick edits -
filter tweaks etc, affected drums playing from >both< tracks. (The
tracks were set up to point only to their respective channels, rather
than all)"

this is becouse you are playing the same "instrament" what I do in
that situation is just save multiples of the instrament that you want
to do that with, for instance i will have up to 5 tr-808's saved as
tr808-1 through tr808-5 and have one per channel/track so i can tweak
out the snare seperatly from the hi hats, you get the idea. It is
much more like having a real tr808/909.
I would like to add sompthing here, i hvae to say that i have heard
alot of copies of the 808/909 synths and this thing is the best i
have heard, i own a TD-5 drum head from roland that has a 808 in it
and was using it just becouse i always found it cut through way more
than samples off the E5000 but i took the time to compair the two as
well as listening to recordings of trax that i know have been made
with a 909 they are so dam close that i can not see the justification
for the expence of going out and buying either. expescialy a 808
(most of my trax use this sound set) due to the lack of midi
implamentasion on board. the bass drums are identical no difference
that i could hear over a mackie and a pair of beyer dynamic 911
headphones, none at all! thank you E-MU.
*Phew* that was a rant.

well hope i dident make any 808/909 owners angry there it is not my
intension i was just totaly surprised and impresed.

take care
Mike
