Definitely use the chanting, works for me everytime.  When you're done 
harming little animals, go into the MIDI menu and make sure you have 
Program Changes enabled for all tracks  : )

I have exactly the same problem!
Patterns stamp preset prog. changes at 000.
But when I load patterns or press stop 3 times(rtz)
nothing happens!

This issue seems to have gone really quiet on this list.Makes me
wonder why.Dare I say bug, or should I go outside start chanting and
kill little animals to see if I may cure the problem.
