I wonder, if a Akai-sampler can read samples in EMU format or is osmosis
needed?

How about the new Z4/Z8 or the S5000/6000?

All of those support Emu E3 and E4 sample libraries. Go to
www.akaipro.com for all the details.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
