mono channel assign

mono channel assign

2003-09-08 by pocketd@gmx.de

Hi all,

these weeks I´m again working hardly with my box, after ending my study....

I worked with mono channels on different channels to do, and it`s a bit
confusing to
understand how it works,

1. It seems that mono channels assigned to the same number on different
layers on same
midi channel don´t interrupt.

2. It seems that same mono channels interrupt on different midi channels.

How can I get them interrupt on same midichannel on different layers, to get
for example
one layer with open and one with closed hihat, well I do that normally with
one long hihat,
but it´s just an example. (sounds dirty controlling decay)

3. Is there a difference between a mono assign and multiple triggers (except
that multiple
triggers are not a group.

Well, I did check out to make it sound more analog with the lags, I said
last mail to
someone, who thought of buying it , it wouldn`t sound analog, write it on my
grave, that was
bullshit !!!
I don`t see the difference between preset and patch Lag processors.

I just begin to understand.

Okay, there're two different voice limiting constructs in the P2K synth
architecture.

There's "Solo Mode" which is a per-layer only thing (i.e. the fact that
one layer has solo on has *no* bearing on other channels or layers).

Conversely, there's the "Assign Group" which is a way to limit certain
things two a limited number of voices. These groups cross both layer
and channel boundries. For example, if you have a bass on track 1 and
a trumpet on track 2, and you have both of them assigned to Mono Group
A, only one note will play at a time, either bass or trumpet. However,
if you have one assigned to Mono Group A and the other to Mono Group B,
they won't interact with each other (though they still will only play
one note *each*).

This is where groups are useful. Assign both layers to be the same
Mono Group, and they will cut each other off.

Both Mono Group A and the Multiple Trigger solo mode retrigger the note
from the beginning, resetting all envelopes. They are the ones most
like playing the note from scratch.

It's layer vs. preset lag. The difference is very subtle. The preset
level one works globally for the preset and never gets reset. The
layer level one is independent per note per layer, and it gets
initialized when you play a note. Note that the only sources for the
preset level lag are global sources like MIDI controllers. The layer
lags can have sources like LFOs because there's two laggers *per note
per layer*, whereas there's only *one* preset lag per channel.
