I was perplexed when they listed it at a price over and above the xl7 --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "For me to know..." <qazap@y...> wrote:

hi i don't want to be too critical of Emu but why did they release the PX7 at all? I think a rom release would have been enough and then they could divert more resources towards the sp1600 or the new E series hmmm... Well lets see what happens come 2004 --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "For me to know..." <qazap@y...> wrote: > --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "rajah_patel" <rajah_patel@y...> wrote: > > > > I was perplexed when they listed it at a price over and above the

Because people found ou it can be cheaper to get an Xl-7 with the Protean
Drum ROM, versus just getting the PX-7 :)

Winter NAMM, Winter NAMM....
I agree, I thought the PX-7 was a bit of an odd release too, but it really
is one of those minimal investment things on Emu's part. They were going
to make the ROM anyway, so it couldn't be that hard to just paint the
current XX-7 case and make a new model. Easy promotion on a minimal
investment.
What Emu really needs to do is listen to it's market just a bit more.
Everytime you hint at new Emu products coming, EVERYBODY I talk to is like
"oh oh oh oh, are they finally going to make a SP-2000?" Kinda funny,
but people REALLY want a nice Emu table top sampler to go with the XX-7's
(myself included, really bad). You'd think it wouldn't be too hard, with
all their Emulator experience.

rEalm you said it BIG TIME! I would sell my e5000 in a blink of an eye if they made a sampler in the same box as the XL-7. Real time controllers please! The PX-7 is back up to $699 at M.F., it was a few day promotional sale. Everybody else I called has them for $699. EMU did not drop the price. --- In xl7@yahoogroups.com, "For me to know..." <qazap@y...> wrote:

That's a pretty dick move eh? The MP-7 is still $699 too tho, and PX is still goin' for cheap on ebay. People aren't stupid, they won't pay $2-300 just for the color. It would be sooooo much cheaper just pick up ANY of the models on ebay for $500 or less, and sand it and paint it like Realm did. Then plop whatever ROM you want in there. I guess a lot of consumers out there are studid, if they weren't it wouldn't be this way. Seems like EMU would rather have peoples' money than let it slip to the secondary market. The difference in price between ebay and new is staggering with this product.... Peace, Wesley www.evolbeats.com --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!?
