Ok, i was using unedited preset sounds here, not turning any knobs.
Right out of the box a machine should NOT do that if i put a bass drum
with 16th notes over it. i didn't even know about those filters till
yesterday!!!
so i wasnt doing anything extreme here,
ok do this, go to an empty sequence, put C1 of "Lectrophonic" (038^3)
on 16th notes 1,11, and 12 with velocity of 84. put D1 of
"Lectrophonic" on 16th notes 5,8, and 13. now go to track/channel 2
and put C3 of "WayFayer" (113^1) on every 16th note for the bar, also
velocity of 84. And i still get the popping if i set the velocity of
C1 and D1 of "Lectrophonic" to 5!!!
Lots of popping, Never touched filter settings, just using presets.
Setting the Q to 0 doesn't get rid of the popping either. And the
popping isn't consistent. It always happens on a drum hit, but
sometimes it skips a few. But it always goes away upon removal/change
of that filter (to a different one)...
So I wasn't trying to do anything crazy. I layered 2 presets and boom.
(more like pop) there it was. I'm just saying they could have done
better testing. I wish i could just stick a limiter in that thing.
I'll bring the drum machine to work today and get the pattern off it.
