Cakewalk StudioWare Panels; (1) Realtime Preset Editor (2) Controller Panel

Cakewalk StudioWare Panels; (1) Realtime Preset Editor (2) Controller Panel

2004-02-27 by steve_the_composer

I have uploaded two zipped files created by Dave Crowl. Each file
has a StudioWare panel for use with Cakewalk Software [Cakewalk Pro
Audio and its successors] plus a readme file.

(1) P2500 StudioWare panel
->Functions as a preset editor
-->(edited presets can be saved to E-Mu)
->Allows for realtime recording of preset editor changes
--->(Cakewalk records sysex commands generated by StudioWare panel)

(2) Controller panel
->8 Assignable CC Sliders [global select channel 1->16/track 1->64]

Although they were designed using the P2500, I believe they should be
fully functional on the Command Stations (and other P2K synth engine
gear). If there are any problems, let me know and I will (1) remove
the files if necessary and (2) pass the details onto Dave.

As usual, all standard precautions/warnings apply. Make sure to make
backups of presets, tunes, etc.

Hope you find these useful.

...sounds nice,
is it possible to export midifiles of this realtime studio ware manipulated
parameter changes and upload them with the e loader?

Excellent question. I tested this and found some unpredictable
results. I will report these back to Dave as well as any other
issues others may uncover.

Here's what I found:
(1) Cakewalk StudioWare Panel recorded filter Q sysex changes, but
not filter algorithm changes.
(2) Cakewalk StudioWare Panel recorded FX changes. When I used E-
Loader to upload the revised mid file to the E-Mu, the chnages seemed
intact.

RECOMMENDATIONS (if you try the panel):
--make sure you save your current multiseup first.
--make sure you have your presets backed up.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
