SysEx on the XL-7

SysEx on the XL-7

2004-05-28 by roel

Well guys,

2nd subject here.

How do I record sysex data to the XL-7?

a.
I love to do filter sweeps on my external gear using sysex. Can I
enable the XL-7 to record SysEx data (haven't really gotten it to
work with SysEx yet) and have it played back in the pattern?

b.
Can I do a SysEx dump from external synths to the XL-7? (and record
that and put it in front of a song or in an apart pattern to get my
sounds and arrangement dumps back easily)

Thank you :)
best regards, roel

the xl doesnt seem to record sysex from my synths; nor does it merge sysex
data from the input to the output...

has it got some sysex filter?

For those interested on recording sysex on the emu, it's not possible:

EMU Technical support wrote:

" It will support Sysex editing of its internal synth parameters, but the
actual sequencer itself will not record system exclusive data from a
MIDI input."
