I have had success loading emu patterns into a sequencer and
the midi track name will give you an idea to what kind of sound is
called for. ie a bass drum sound. Sometimes I will only use the
snare and bass drum as a guide to either improvise over or
program other sounds to complement the 'guide' tracks.
I have an mp7 w/ the composer rom and have used several px7
patterns to get me started on new ideas.
Tip: check out the lexicon vortex for fx. It is very cool because you
can morph between fx, and I always use it to fatten up some of
my tracks. ;)
