It can be argued that it is necessary to have the right equipment for a job. 
Separating lines out from any beat box and compressing can help to define the 
sound, groove and provide depth of texture. That said - the RNC compressors at 
$200 are remarkable and are often used in pro recordings. I would place them 
right along side a $2,000 Distressor, plus they are handy little bugars. The 
price definitely does not place the RNC in a less than pro class - they are 
great! I intend to get one or more soon as I have been using my friends.
