Where can I purchase the Protean Drums Rom?

Re: Protean Drums ROM

2004-07-14 by Fab Claxton

I bought mine about two weeks ago from an eBay store called
AudioMidiGear. They were very cool people to deal with. I'm not sure
if they have any left, but if they do, you'd better hurry. That's the
only place I could find one, and I searched everywhere.

Alright - no offence taken. By the time I got around to calling them,
they had changed the status on their website from "In Stock" to "Call
For Availability." I didn't get into it too much with the guy I was
speaking with, because he seemed like a nice guy. I just got off the
phone and started looking everywhere I could for this ROM. Luckily, I
did find one, and after installing it into my XL-7, I'm damn glad I
managed to track one down. Good luck to anyone who's looking - it's
worth the trouble.

Missed ROMs

2004-07-15 by _5ht

I soooo regret sleeping on the ROM blow out they had a couple of
months back. That was the time to buy. I want the Vintage, world,
and Ensoniq Project ROMs and they are GONE! Damn you Emu. Damn you
for being so fine.

I did manage to order the X-Lead V2 and Protozoa for $160 so I'm not
complaining.

If anyone is selling a vintage ROM, please let me know.

trust me, you do NOT want the Ensoniq Project ROM. it is highly
craplicious. Vintage is sweet, though, if you're looking for that late
'70s thang.

i've had both Ensoniq ROMs and they were both mostly crap, with a few
diamonds but certainly not worth the price of admission.

yes indeed.

here's what's bothering me - you go to E-mu's site, click on the ROMs
blowout, it takes you to the pre-redesign ROMs page, with some amazing
prices (Beat Garden for $49 ???) but no links to buy anything. going to
the store, then to the ROMs section, shows most sold out and nothing
under $99. gyp!

oh well. i've got all four ROM slots filled with good ones. does
someone want to sequence taps? which ROM would be the best one to use
for that?

I see what seems to be a fully functioning web store, yeah most are
sold out, but there still a few there at $59 and $69
try this link: http://www.soundfont.com/roms/index.html

Perhaps your browser is incompatable with their web store. I don't
get redirected to the emu domain, I just hit the buy now button under
the ROM I want on the soundfont page and everything works fine. I've
placed 2 orders, the last one yesterday,

whee! it seems that Apple Safari doesn't do the links properly on my

Hi All, The Protean drum rom turned up today and was in the XL-7
within 5 minutes.. Loads of samples and kits in there.
So Thomann in Germany have them in stock.
Think ive also cured the buzz problem with the headphone jack, just
had to tighten all the screaws down around the case work seems fine
now :o)
Just need a few days off to get my head into this box! (tomorro...)
