Careful, I think the older OS's might blow away your user data if you downgrade. Why do you want to run the older OS anyway? It's less stable and has less features. -Aaron > "[cYcLoThYmIqUe]" <poumtschak@f...> wrote: > > ftp://Emuserv:s37at5@f.../ > > > > Check out the Command Stations folder. > > > > gonzinigonz a \ufffdcrit : > > > Im lookinmg for a site were i might be able to download the older > > > v1.32 operating system for the command station. Why do you want an older OS? There's no reason at all to downgrade to an
older OS for the XX-7's. Well, except that beta version with realtime Q
enabled, but you won't find that :)

Hi > Careful, I think the older OS's might blow away your user data if >you downgrade. Not worried about that @ present, im trying to sort out a few probs im having.. > Why do you want to run the older OS anyway? It's less > stable and has less features. Wanted to see if the probs were O/S related or i have a hardware problem. I have 2 probs @ moment. 1 - Voice stealing (?) Having reloaded all factory data i notice that some factory patterns also suffer with pops, clicks and notes cut on my unit. I havn't been through many yet but i will look deeper into it. 2 - I noticed that if i have all 16 channels volumes set to 000 via the MIX screen, then reduce or come up from min on the main volume control i will get clicks and pops and even parts of sounds @ full volume as i go through the first 8th turn of the knob. They die away past this point. If i set all the channels to 001 the problem goes away! Back to 000 problem returns. seems to be sounds with longer realse times / held notes. This would be an issue if i wanted to fade in a mix while the seq was running with some channels volume set @ 000. If i mute this also corrects the problem. There also appears to be some zipper noise around this area. O/S 1.32 does it as well. Hardware problem?? Wish I had it in the E-Mu. (And if I had known it was deliberately disabled, I might not have spent so much time trying to figure out what I was doing wrong.) >>>Yes, res is only calculated at Note On. <<< I imagine in the wrong hands realtime control over resonance with filters such as EaryRizer could pop an E-Mu into oblivion--either that or it would enable presets that would be way too amazing for audience comprehension. Any idea why it was disabled? >>>Baically because the engineers at Emu felt that it didn't sound as smooth as they'd like, and gave unpredicatble results with some of the esoteric filters. I argued long and hard that more options (no matter how they sound) are always a better thing when it comes to sound design, but to no avail. It was felt that people would not be able to get over the fact that the resonance didn't behave like on other gear in some instances, and thus would be a cause for complaint. Personally, I never noticed any of the above, at least not in a way that I thought was negative. <<< rEalm The information transmitted is intended only for the person(s)or entity to which it is addressed and may contain confidential and/or legally privileged material.
