Expansion instrument listings.

Expansion instrument listings.

2005-11-05 by Ronald Pieket

Is there a resource anywhere that lists all instruments of all ROMs?
BTW that what Emu calls "instrument", the rest of the world calls
"samples" or "wave data", right?

I found several duplicates between the XL7 standard ROM ("Xtreme
Lead") and the "Proteus Pop" expansion that I bought it with. Not
complaining - I practically paid nothing for the expansion, but I want
to make sure that when I buy a new ROM, it doesn't contain too many
duplicates.

Looking to expand with "Techno Synth" and "Beat Garden", and later
perhaps replace the "Proteus Pop" with the "Vintage" ROM. Could use
some ethnic percussion also. Does "Beat Garden" offer enough of that?
I'm thinking of clay pots, water drums, and talking drum samples.

But for the moment, instrument listings is what I'm looking for.

Thanks. There are four instrument maps in the files area (TSCY, Beat
Garden, Protean Drums, and XLead). Still looking for listings of
World, Vintage, Phatt, Pop, Protozoa, ZR, and Composer.

Can't find them on the Emu website anymore.

An easiest way to get this info is to look in the appendix of the various modules that use those roms, for example,

http://www.emu.com/support/files/storage/VinPro.pdf

has the vintage rom preset & instrument listings.

I don't have time for the rest but maybe you/one of the other members can spend the time to pull those manuals for the info...and this info should be close enough to do the comparisons you wish to do.....

Very nifty track. It's hard to believe that's a digital synth.

How many of the sounds are programmed by you - any presets?
